Luxury Residence with Historic Charm in a Magnificent Location

"A splendid country seat which provides a glimpse of local history intermingled with 21st-century comfort." - Reviewed by Lisa

WONDERFULLY WIXXY

LISA PERFECT PICK – “To the manor born… I ooohed and aaahed over this home: the loving way it has been restored, the gardens with their magnificent fruit trees, the charming little town literally on the doorstep and the miles of sandy beaches and proximity to Comporta. This is a must-stay location for anybody interested in the bounty that Portugal offers!”

As featured in the renowned magazine Casas de Portugal (Houses in Portugal), this stately home sits with pride of place at the top of the village – almost within reach of the castle.

From its privileged position, this traditional Alentejo vacation home is afforded, on one side, wonderful views across the rooftops out towards the pretty rolling country side of Alentejo. And from the other side, you can gaze upon its majestic sandstone neighbour whose origins date back to pre-Celtic times – the famed Castle of Santiago do Cacém whose fascinating history spans through the Roman epoch to the Moorish invasions to early Christianity.

Inside and out, this lovely rental villa in Portugal is a very special home. The genteel, traditional Portuguese country home architecture is at its finest here with scrolled stone details and impressively comfortable facades.

The gardens to one side and at the back of the house are sheltered, yet sunny, and provide a plethora of fruits from which to squeeze daily juices or pick for a poolside snack.

A heated pool and private garden suite with its own access all add to the multitude of modern-day conveniences not often found in homes such as this. But don’t let yourself be intimidated by the décor reminiscent of days gone by – the owners have gone to great pains to bring comfort and ease of living into every aspect of their magnificent home.
