“To have a Sotogrande based on money would be the most horrible society. A club is a thing people join because they are friends, or potential friends.” Joseph McMicking – Founder and Developer of Sotogrande 1962

Located on Spain’s Costa del Sol, this 20 square-acre enclave of prestigious lifestyle was started in the 1960’s with a master plan that has developed seamlessly over the decades. Today, it includes some of the country’s most elite homes, developments within the development, famed golf courses, well-established polo clubs and an abundance of activities.

Owners and guests in Sotogrande have a multitude of interests, so it stands to reason that there would be at least a handful of activities to satisfy them… and all offered at a world-class level. From golf to polo to equestrian pursuits to marine activities to relaxation – not to mention excellent restaurants, cafés and a wining and dining selection to keep everybody happy. Sotogrande lifestyle is all about options – possibilities of indulging within the secure environment or opportunities to explore the region of Andalucia… even easy access to Africa, just across the Straits.

Less than an hour west of Marbella and a stone’s throw from Gibraltar, Sotogrande is the understated destination of the glittering Costa. Home to an international monied elite, it appeals to the discreet chic and the want-to-go-unrecognized famous.

Sotogrande is all about quality of life – low-key moments with family and friends and enjoying the simple pleasures in beautiful surroundings. The living is as glamourous as the days are easy.

Sotogrande is home to royalty, international power brokers, actors, and politicians. It’s a place where you enjoy your home and those of your friends. Of course, there are hotels, but Sotogrande is not about hotel culture – it’s about seclusion behind your own front door with access to plenty of fun on the doorstep.

Most homes are fully staffed and have their own pool and gardens. Homes are in different residential areas throughout the development – from estates to townhomes to apartments.
