What’s the best part about being a Tripwix ambassador for Puerto Vallarta?
The best part has to be meeting new people and being able to contribute to making their stay in my adopted town so unique and memorable. There is something really special about promoting a place that you love so much and want to share with others. I think it is contagious.
What are you passionate about?
I love travelling. The world has such beautiful and interesting places to visit. I really love learning about different cultures and traditions and learning new languages. I speak a little Italian, am fluent in English, and I’m learning French right now. I used to teach Spanish for foreigners.
What makes you jump out of bed in the morning in Puerto Vallarta?
I like outdoor activities and Puerto Vallarta offers many options: hiking, swimming, different water sports. Also, the city is surrounded by quaint, small Mexican towns such as San Sebastian del Oeste, Talpa, Mascota, El Tuito where you can enjoy typical cuisine and appreciate traditional rural architecture.
What is Puerto Vallarta best at?
You will be spoiled for choice in Puerto Vallarta. It is full of art galleries, great beaches, fabulous restaurants (it is ranked 2nd in Mexico after Mexico City for gourmet restaurants), a beautiful pedestrian boardwalk called the Malecon, a range of nightlife (for young or old, gay or straight, early-to-bed-ers or late-night party animals alike), golf, ziplines, ATV treks, sunset cruises, a pirate ship… the list goes on. And, if you are here from November – March, our guests of honour are sure to give you quite a show when the humpback whales come to feed, give birth and train their young to pirouette.
Are there any special festivals you would recommend?
Visitors will see colourful decorated altars around town on November 2 in honour of the Day of the Dead and the International Gourmet Festival usually takes place at the end of November.
December welcomes the Pilgrim Processions in honour of the Virgin of Guadalupe that take place in downtown from December 1 to 12. Likewise, posada season starts on December 16 with Christmas nativity parties climaxing on Christmas Eve, December 24. The New Year’s Eve firework display is usually nothing short of spectacular. Fishing fanatics can also take part in various sport fishing competitions like the Sailfish Competition.
What kind of shopping will you find in Puerto Vallarta?
Handcrafts from Tlaquepaque (a town about 4 hours from Puerto Vallarta) and talavera pottery (from Puebla), as well as beautiful works of art created by the local Huichol people who work with intricate bead designs and threaded paintings. You will also find a number of contemporary art galleries in town and silver jewellery stores abound.
What are your top recommendations for a good time in Puerto Vallarta?

- Walk the Malecon at sunset, stopping for an ice-cream or frozen yoghurt
- Enjoy a private tequila tasting in your villa or allow us to organize a trip to the town itself for a tour of Tequila’s factories
