With its exuberant architectural style, the contrast between the casino and its surroundings is quite brilliant. The last thing you expect to find as you wander the rural grand walkways and the winding 8 km of parkland trails is a palatial, elegant, immaculately-conserved casino.
The casino was originally inaugurated in 1910 with a ballroom and meeting room where gambling, although illegal, was a common practice. Today, this magnificent Neo-Manueline-style building makes the perfect venue for events, meetings, weddings and corporate functions.
The Main Hall most definitely takes center stage and is, in fact, equipped with a stage suited to an orchestra. Floor-to-ceiling doors open to a magnificent grand terrace overlooking the lush parkland. This room is filled with beautiful light during the day. And, for an evening soiree, the hand-painted and frescoed walls will also create a lasting impression.
Three support rooms, each with a capacity of up to 80 people, are available for smaller events or as a whole and are no less grand.
