This stunning Umbria rental home probably takes the Tenuta di Murlo estate’s most enviable position and definitely wins first prize for its fantastic pool deck, views, warm ambiance and rustic charm.
Surrounded by lawns and terraces, places from which to sit and take in the view are plentiful. And what a view! The “green” hillside surrounding you seems to envelop the home and there is no mistaking that you have found yourself in rural bliss.
The home is comprised of the main house and a two-bedroom, independently-accessed apartment (which can be rented separately).
The main house was updated in 2018 with some spiffy new furnishings in bright prints and fresh modern, country motifs.
This lovely home with its two staircases and double-sided living room has bags of character and plenty of spots for entertaining, cuddling up with a book on a cloudy day or participating in a pasta-making class with a local teacher in the open-plan, bright and airy kitchen.
The apartment had yet to be updated when we visited and was not decorated to the same quality as the main house. It is available as part of the home or can be booked separately. If you like your privacy, we recommend that the house and apartment be booked together.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms
Bedrooms are divided symmetrically on either side of the building. Three bedrooms are accessed by one staircase and three from the other. Once upstairs, on either side of the house, the configuration is more or less equal with one large Master and two smaller rooms, each equally well furnished with attention to design detail.
Funky, embroidered, tapestry headboards in bright pinks, blues and greens integrate well with the antique furnishings creating a fresh take on rustic luxe. Pretty, colourful curtains play in the hilltop breezes and warm terracotta-tiled floors dressed with sisal rugs complete the warm and cheery ambiance
Bathrooms are on the small side but well-equipped and immaculately-updated. Two bedrooms on either side share a bathroom.

What could be more charming, warm and welcoming than old stone walls, worn antique terracotta floors and beautiful mellow-toned wooden-beamed ceilings all pulled together with fresh lime-plastered walls, off-white comfy sofas, knotty sisal rugs and a great selection of carefully chosen antiques and accessories?
MAIN HOUSE
This is a charming home in which to spend time inside in either of the two lovely sitting rooms or the dining area. Or enjoy outdoor living on the plethora of patios or the fabulous pool deck.
THE APARTMENT
Although it can be rented separately, we recommend renting the apartment in addition to the main house. It has its own full kitchen, a sitting/dining area and a laundry room. It’s great for larger families and groups who want some independence or it can be used as a nanny/kids quarters.
Sadly, it has not been updated like the main home. Nonetheless, it is still very pleasant with a distinctly more traditional feel and without the luxurious details of the main house.

Know Before You Go

- The apartment does not have the same standard of furnishings and comfort as the main house, but nevertheless is still very comfortable
- Jacuzzi cannot be heated independently of the pool
- There is a washing machine and ironing facilities but no dryer.
- Despite the rural location, the Wi-Fi coverage in all areas is excellent – including the pool and garden.
- Lots to do and see on the estate.
- We loved the restaurant delivery service.
- Very efficient on-site concierge.
- Estate roads are uneven and gravel – not suitable for sports, or very low cars.
- Sat to Sat bookings only during the high season.
