Vineyard Home Flying High over the Douro River
"A celebrity chef would pay to cook in a kitchen with this view… unbelievable!" - Reviewed by Lisa
Soar like an eagle from its dramatic aerie, this Douro Valley rental home leaves you with the sensation of flying high above the meandering curves and classic vine terraces of the great Douro River. From this vantage point, you can see the glorious vineyards and golden river valley below for miles and miles, leaving no doubt as to why the BBC claims this region provides the “best river view in the world”. Surrounded by drama, with an undeniable sensation of freedom and space, this sleek and impressive home makes quite the impact!
Reached via an electronic gate and surrounded by lush vineyards, the aerodynamic home, almost indistinguishable from the green surroundings, appears to be at one with nature. Jaw-dropping views meet dramatic architecture, natural light bathes the home and large push-back glass windows throughout let nature flood in. Utilizing natural local materials like flint, slate and hardwoods, while an urban colour palette compliments the surroundings, a sophisticated, two storey, top-of-the-world retreat is revealed.
Outside, a large pool with a grassy lawn is upstaged by the stunning surroundings, making an amazing place to spend sunny days and sunset watching.
