Restored 18th-Century Historic Home for Rent

"Majesty Abounds in this Completely-Restored, 18th-Century Manor Home." - Reviewed by Lisa

With the impression that all roads lead to this historic home for rent in Portugal you’ll be delighted by the majestic manor house dramatically sitting at what appears to be the end of a twisty, turning village road. Thick, white, soft stone walls beckon you to enter this inviting property and explore what lies ahead. Lovingly restored by husband-and-wife team Maria and Luis, this gorgeous 18th-century home now lends itself as a temporary abode for those who love the finer things in life.

This elegant home is the perfect base from which to explore the undiscovered surrounding areas – knowing you will come home to the comforting local cuisine of your warm and amiable host, Maria Amaral. Local gastronomy is her passion; she’ll set you on the right path to indulge in regional specialties as well as pampering you with her favourites including vegetables, herbs and fruits from the property’s own market garden. Maria also has a vast knowledge of the region’s finest wines.

Two acres of manicured gardens, French gardens and lawns offer a serene and peaceful place to truly wind down and relax. Behind an ornate iron gate, you’ll find the large, enclosed pool area with plenty of day beds and birdsong.

Elegant comfort and great views abound. You will be equally at home whether you’re relaxing in a cozy sofa or hosting an informal cocktail party for family and friends. A shady terrace runs the width of the property and from the master bedroom you can contemplate the peaceful panoramas including lovely views of the Serra da Estrela and Serra do Caramulo.
