"Private Chianti Villa with Breath-taking Views and Pool.” - Reviewed by Deborah
Ancient on the outside, modern on the inside, this totally private villa is a marriage made in Chianti heaven!
The oldest part of Villa Tartufi dates back to the mid-medieval period when a fortress would have posed on this site. Inside, after a lengthy and meticulous restoration process, you will find modern comforts and stylish furniture attuned for an uncluttered and serene experience.
Today, the villa is comprised of two buildings joined by a large glass passage: the main villa and a converted hay barn. A private studio apartment can be accessed beneath the main villa on the pool level. Together, these buildings offer plenty of living areas inside and out for accommodating up to 16 guests in style.
The Tuscan views are particularly impressive – you can see the medieval town of San Gimignano in the distance as well as the nearby valley where guests can forage for truffles in the autumn. Sleek, comfortable interiors styled in light hues allow the stunning views to dominate the subtle decor.
Inside, you may be tempted to congregate in the sparkling professional kitchen with contemporary finishes. Or, enjoy a formal dinner around a huge dining table made from one beautiful piece of wood. For your comfort, you might choose to bask in the A/C on a hot afternoon as you meditate on the views or flip through one of the many coffee-table books.
Outside, enjoy an assortment of furnished outdoor areas for al fresco dining or relaxing, including a terrace, lawn and an infinity pool with sun beds.
Your only responsibility at Villa Tartufi is to allow yourself to acclimatize to the Tuscan spirit.
