1. How did you become the Tripwix Ambassador for Bahía de Banderas?I became the Tripwix Ambassador for Bahía de Banderas through a serendipitous connection. A mutual friend introduced me to the founders of Tripwix, believing that my passion for hospitality, love for the area, and extensive experience would make me a great fit for the team. It turned out to be a perfect match, and I’ve been delighted to represent Punta Mita and the broader Bahía de Banderas region, showcasing all the incredible experiences this area has to offer.

2. What is an ambassador, and how does your role differ from the Punta de Mita Concierge Team?As an ambassador, my role is to be the face and voice of the Tripwix brand in Bahía de Banderas. I focus on building relationships, curating exceptional experiences, and providing insider knowledge that elevates our guests’ stays. While the Punta Mita Concierge Team handles the day-to-day guest services and immediate needs, my role involves promoting the area, collaborating with local businesses, and ensuring that each guest has a uniquely personalized and memorable experience that reflects the essence of this beautiful region.

3. What are you passionate about?I am passionate about exploring the underwater world as an Advanced Scuba Diver, enjoying the stunning marine life that the Bahía de Banderas has to offer. I also have a deep love for horses, and horseback riding in this region is an amazing way to connect with nature. In my free time, I enjoy painting and drawing, often inspired by the ocean life of the area that holds a special place in my heart. As an artist, I admire the local art scene, especially the unique pieces created by the Huicholes and international residents, which showcase a diverse range of fine art.

4. What should visitors do when they visit Punta Mita?

Visitors to Punta Mita should definitely explore the stunning beaches and enjoy water activities like snorkeling, scuba diving, and paddleboarding. Horseback riding through the lush landscapes is another must-do activity. I also recommend exploring the local art scene, which features works by talented Huichol artists and international residents. A visit to the nearby Marietas Islands for whale watching or a sunset cruise is also an unforgettable experience. Lastly, savoring the local cuisine is essential, as Punta Mita offers some of the finest dining options in the region.

5. What do you want guests to remember most about Punta Mita?

I want guests to remember the warmth and hospitality of the people, the breathtaking natural beauty of the area, and the incredible experiences they’ve had here. Whether it’s the tranquility of a sunset over the ocean, the thrill of spotting marine life while diving, or the joy of discovering local art and culture, Punta Mita is a place that leaves a lasting impression. I hope guests leave with a sense of connection to this wonderful part of the world and a desire to return.

6. Are there any souvenirs you recommend?

I highly recommend picking up some Huichol art as a souvenir. These vibrant, handcrafted pieces reflect the rich cultural heritage of the indigenous Huichol people and make for a meaningful and unique keepsake. Local jewelry, pottery, and textiles crafted by skilled artisans are also wonderful options. You can find beautiful artworks by international residents that capture the essence of Punta Mita. Additionally, consider taking home a bottle of fine tequila, raicilla, mezcal, or sotol – As a native of Chihuahua, I have a fondness for sotol, which offers unique flavor notes like vanilla – These traditional Mexican spirits are not only excellent gifts but also perfect reminders of your time in this beautiful region, embodying the rich flavors and craftsmanship of Mexico.
