Mexican and Latin American Film Festival
Art-loving-luxury-seekers-in-the-know head to Costa Careyes for its international film and art festival that usually takes place around mid-April each year. The festival presents a unique combination of celebrated films, including a selection from the Sundance Film Festival. You can also enjoy curated art exhibitions and parties that can be anything from outrageously glitzy to down-to-earth tree-hugging.
Mission
The first Film and Art Festival was hosted in Careyes in 2010 with the intention of showcasing Mexican talent, opening an experimental space where creative minds could come together from all over the world. With each following edition, the festival began to welcome exhibiting artists from all over Latin America. Today, the cultural festival encompasses three main disciplines: film, contemporary art and music, with the mission to promote emerging artists in all fields.

Invitation only

Your Tripwix ambassador, Viviana Dean, can help you with all you need to know about how to make the most of the festival as well as other events that happen throughout the year. She arrived to Careyes in 1990 and fell in love with the area and its jungle-hugging coastline. She has enjoyed the privilege of working with Gian Franco Brignone – the founder of Careyes – for many years, helping to build, decorate and manage luxury villas in Careyes while hosting an international crowd of high-flyers.
