Yet Another Happy Tripwix Guest Visiting Portugal!

Nothing brings a smile to our faces more than to know that we have delivered on our promises. Guest feedback is a great way for us to recognize what we are doing right and improve anything that is short of perfect.

Therefore, it is with great pleasure that we share our most recent feedback from a more than happy Douro Valley guest. Take a look at what they had to say about their stay.

I doubt many trips can compare to our Portugal trip. It was truly one of our favorite vacations ever. It was actually more of an adventure!! For starters, the Douro Valley was breathtaking!! But the one thing that was a bit difficult for some was the curvy, winding drive– we had some people with vertigo and fear of heights– this was while riding on the bus only and not in the quinta or when e-biking. The view from the quinta will be embedded in our minds forever[]

Lovely terraces

Angela and team (Maria, Melene, etc.) took care of us so well — from the specifically planned meals,.. to the wine,… to the itinerary changes and the transport drives to the train depot. My best compliment for Angela is she has such great communication skills and found her to be a wonderful historian of the area. She truly made the trip feel so homey and comfortable.

Dining in style

Then Luis [the ambassador],  where do I start? This trip was so special and most of the credit goes to him. We gave him a long list of things we wanted to do and he checked off every box. And even when we had to change things due to weather– he contacted us daily and gave us options [] We thought we’d either have to stay at the quinta the entire time or just do wineries everyday… or try to plan everything by ourselves.. so relieved that wasn’t the case at all.

Three of my favorite highlights:

1. The ebike ride through the Douro Valley was phenomenal… felt like I was in the Tour de France lol.

2. The private boat ride with lunch/wine– we had a gorgeous day.

3. And probably the most memorable excursion was the grape stomping at Quinta de Moroccos– Katherina was fantastic with her storytelling and historical info. Some of us even hiked up the vineyards to see a truly heavenly view.

Wine not!

I must add, that while doing the adventures all day was great– even better was coming back to the Quinta to eat, drink and be merry with such dear friends and familia!!

When we left the quinta and got to Fatima– think we were all overwhelmed with emotion. We have three cancer survivors in our group– and we realize that this trip was a chance of a lifetime and a blessing that has filled our hearts with so much joy.

Also– Porto, Lisbon, Sintra and Cascais were spectacular too… the castle… the cliff-lined shore… really fun to see your beautiful country from the mountains to the coast– and from countryside to city. Vina, our tour guide and Luis, our driver had a synchronized plan for seeing so much. We learned a ton.

Also, we can’t say enough good things about the Portugal people– so friendly, knowledgeable, happy and kind!! […]

And finally– you Miguel [Tripwix co-founder]… thanks for taking care of us from booking… to planning… to payments,… to answering so many questions,… to giving JD his book recommendation (he had lots of factoids to add) and others have ordered the same book as well.

Miguel Carvalho, co-founder of Tripwix

We’ve already had lots of friends and family inquiring about our trip– and we are sending them ALL your way.

God bless you for helping us create such “memorias preciosa”…

Maria
