For the last 30 years or so, Careyes has been host to unrivalled Chinese New Year celebrations which include colourful festivities in the evening as well as a polo tournament organised by the Costa Careyes Polo Club. In 2018, we will be celebrating the Year of the Dog, which is dedicated to fortune, career, health, and love.
No matter what Chinese sign you are, or even if you think the Zodiac is a load of hogwash, Careyes’ Chinese New Year celebration is certainly one of the highlights of the year and a great excuse to socialise. You might also want to combine the celebrations with a Valentine’s Day getaway and stay for the whole week!
Polo Tournaments
Costa Careyes is home to one of the very first Polo Clubs in Mexico. Since its launch in 1990, the club has been hosting a number of incredible tournaments, attracting players, aficionados and wannabes from all over the world. The club features two regulated Bermuda fields within a beautiful jungle mango plantation near the beach.
During the Polo Season (from November to April), games are played each weekend, with special tournaments organised throughout the season. TripWix guests are welcome to come and view the matches.
